Christian Stahlhofen is a cinematographer, director, and passionate filmmaker. For him, film has always been more than just entertainment—it is a unique language built on images, atmosphere, rhythm, and emotion. Driven by this passion, he turned his calling into a career.
He studied Film & Television at the Media Academy Berlin, with a strong focus on cinematography, editing, and directing. Today, he seamlessly combines this solid cinematic foundation with hands-on experience as a cinematographer, screenwriter, producer, and director.
Christian Stahlhofen: Cinematic Signature and International Projects
During his time at Claw & Cleaver Flicks, Christian contributed to projects such as "Night of the Skull Reaper" and "Borrowed Light". His portfolio features multiple films showcased at various prestigious festivals. "Night of the Skull Reaper" was an official selection at several film festivals and won the Best Cinematography award at the Black Cat International Film Festival.
Beyond short films, Christian has also successfully executed international video production projects—including commercials and real estate videos in Indonesia. This background allows him to bring not only exceptional technical filmmaking expertise but also a genuine global mindset to the film industry.
Awards and Festival Selections
"Borrowed Light" has also garnered significant international attention, receiving awards and official selections at numerous horror and fantasy film festivals. The film won the Channel Audience Choice Award at the Bloody Mirror Horror Film Festival, received an Honorable Mention at the Halloween Horror Festival, and was also nominated for Best Film there. Furthermore, "Borrowed Light" was nominated for Best Horror Short Film at the Los Angeles Fantasy Fest.
